Namahage Sedo Festival
Namahage Sedo Matsuri, one of the Michinoku Five Snow Festivals is held at the Shinzan Shrine in Kitaura at Oga City in Akita Prefecture. It began in 1964 as a winter festival that represents Oga's winter and is held on the second Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of February, over three days. This festival is a winter tourism event that combines the Shinto ritual "Saitousai" and the folk event "Namahage". The brave and dynamic dance of Namahage, which is performed under the light of the Sedo fire at Shinzan Shrine will definitely catch your eyes. （2nd Fri.–Sun. in February）
