- Lake Tazawa, famous for its azure surface and the legend of Princess Tatsuko, is a nearly circular lake with a circumference of about 20km. With a peak depth of 423.4 meters, it is Japan's deepest lake. The lake has a mystical atmosphere and offers a wealth of different views in all four seasons that all visitors can enjoy.

- The townscape in Kakunodate built by the Ashina family in the Edo Period in 1620 still exists today. Afterwards, it became the Satake family castle town. Following the Tama river and Hinokinai River, and surrounded on three sides by mountains, the historic town is lovely with its samurai homes and flowering cherry trees. It's a tourist spot with a scene truly suitable to being called the "Little Kyoto Michinoku".
